[spoon-discuss] entropy revisited

I was wandering around town today and came up with an idea. How about re-introducing Entropy, but balancing it with an opposable concept. The idea here is that the state of Nomic can have 2 states (actually 3, but one is rare) - If Universal Entropy is greater the Universal Attraction, the Nomiverse is said to be dispersing. If the opposite is tru, the Nomiverse is said to be collapsing. If the two are balanced, then the Nomiverse is said to be in a Steady State.

Then there is a property called Omega. Omega is the ratio of Universal Entropy to Universal Attraction. If Omega is ever less than 0.1 (i.e there is 10 times as much Attraction as there is Entropy), the Nomiverse suffers a Big Crunch. When a big Crunch occurs, all objects and non-title attributes are destroyed (may require tweaking here)

If Omega is ever greater than 10, the Nomiverse suffers heat death. When the nomiverse suffers Heat Death all dimensions with the exception of Respect are set to 0 (again, tweak)

Once either one happens there is a Big Bang. All Entropy and Attraction is returned to 0.

The idea here is that different actions will cause either Entropy or Attraction. Depending upon the state of the Nomiverse, some actions could operate differently - certain cards could have different properties depending on the state of the Nomiverse, or one could only place pieces on black squares on the Go board in a Dispersing Nomiverse, and on white in a Collapsing Nomiverse.

Sorta like the Gremlin number, only affected by our actions.

Of course all of this runs publically
