[spoon-discuss] Re: [Spoon-business] last-minute pre-end-of-nweek stuff

Well, Glotmorf named me defendant in 2 CFI's....

From: Glotmorf <nomicmorf@xxxxxxxxx>
3. I make the following CFI:
Statement: It is illegal to implement Proposal 1234.
Analysis: It is in clear violation of Rule 204.
This CFI should be judged REFUSED if Proposal 1234
doesn't pass.

Well, responding specifically to the analysis, that Prop 1234 is in violation of Rule 204, I say the analysis is irrelevant. The prop sets the gamestate as of the moment of its implementation equal to what the gamestate was a while ago. So technically all the nuttiness happened, but it has been suddenly negated.

Responding to other things people have said:
Wonko said:
I, uh, hope you realize that this proposal negates its own existance... If we rewind to nday 3, then this proposal was never issued, and so we never rewound, and so it's not nday 3, and so the proposal does exist, and so it doesn't, and so on...

I reply:
No, as soon as the prop is implemented, the gamestate /is/ what the gamestate was on nday 3, with the change specified. We no longer need the proposal, because it /is/ nday 3. Nothing else is needed to support this.

Wonko also stated:
Oh, right, and it gets confusing with the Voting Rule, which states that all proposals which were deemed to have passed take effect; so it should finish processing things after your reset, resulting in rule-changes that depend on things that never happened.

I reply:
The rules say that proposals are processes in the order of their number. As soon as Prop 1234 is reached, there suddenly are no proposals to process, as the proposals no longer exist.

Ok, on to the next CFI:
4. I make the following CFI:

Statement: It is illegal to implement the portion of
Proposal 1237 that repeals Rule 1219.
Analysis: Rule 1219 states, "This rule cannot be
changed or repealed except by Glotmorf." Per CFI
1205, its chutzpah is 1000, which is high enough to
override any current rule that might otherwise allow
Proposal 1237 to be implemented.
This CFI should be judged REFUSED if Proposal 1237
doesn't pass.

I can see no argument against this, unless I wanted to get esoteric and say frilly things like the admin is in charge or whatever. But hey, the judges can rule however they want, regardless of the facts, right? *cough*. But yeah, this CFI is true. I don't know why Glotmorf assigned me defendant. Maybe e feels that I will argue against em no matter what (and it seems the reverse it true, to me).
