[spoon-discuss] Draft: Prop: Night of the living Societies

[[ This prop will basically rip out the entire societies system and
reimplement it. Yes, there are dues. But they require unanimous consent. So
there.]]

I propose the following:
{{
Delete the third sentence of section B.23 of rule 441.
[[ cannot be bought by vsoi etc]]

Repeal rules 748 [[ vSOI menu ]], 850 [[ vSOI sale type], 1141 [[ Olive trees
]], 1073 [[ WBE ]], 1075 [[ Speeder upgrades ]], and rule 578.

[[ vSOI discounts ]]
Replace section A in rule 1071 with:
{{
There exist Passable MOs called Airspeeders, or simply Speeders.

Each Speeder has four attributes:
Upgrade Space, which is initially 10
Max Integrity, which is initially 100
Integrity, which is initially Max Integrity
Speed, which is initially 5.

Any player may pay 30 points to the Gnome Account to buy an Airspeeder. When
this happens, the Airspeeder that has just been purchased is placed on the
Grid at the Service Mall closest to the purchasing player's location, or at a
random Service Mall if the player does not occupy a Grid location. [[i.e., if
they're in Limbo or being Thrown/Carried as a toad]] Any player who owns an
airspeeder may transfer ownership of that airspeeder to any other player,
provided that the new owner does not object to this.
}}

Delete section E.5 [[ WBE research outposts]] of rule 301.

Destroy all societies, olive trees, speeder upgrades, and WBE research
outposts.

Create the following rule:
{{
__Societies__

A. General
A.1. Definitions
A society is an Entity consisting of the following attributes:
* A Name
* A set of Entities collectively known as Members
* A charter
* An integral number of points greater than or equal to 0.
* An integral value of bandwith greater than or equal to 0.
* A pool of BNS.
* An entity known as the Founder, that is a Member.

A society's charter may specify additional attributes, but they are ignored in
all Rules unless explicitly stated otherwise.

If at any time a soceity has no Members, it ceases to exist.
If at any time a soceity has no Founder, or its Founder is not a member of the
soceity, and its Charter does not specify a Replacement Founder, the Member
that has been a Member the longest becomes the Founder.

If at any time a soceity has no Founder, or its Founder is not a member of the
soceity, and its Charter does specify a Replacement Founder, the specified
Replacement Founder becomes the Founder.

All attributes of any soceity must be publicly displayed at all times.

A.2. The Charter
The charter of a society specifies the behavoir of a society. Specifically, if
the charter specifies that an action be done by the soceity, the soceity
attempts to perform that action. If a society has no charter, its charter is
set to the following:
{{
This society attempts to perform any action that its Founder specifies.
}}

A society may change its charter as specified in its charter, provided it is
within the first 5 ndays of the current nweek. If its charter does not
specify a way to change it, the Founder may change its charter. Any charter
changes take effect at the end of the nweek.

The charter of a soceity must be publicly displayed.

A.3. Automatic transfers
The charter of a society may require that a given amount of points, BNS, or
bandwith be transferred to it from its players, as long as the following
requirements are met:
* All members must be required to contribute the same amount
* If the player in question cannot meet the demands, no transfer is made. The
society may specify an action to take when this happens

When the charter of a society is changed to include an Automatic transfer, all
members must consent to the change within 3 ndays from when the soceity or
its founder attempted to change its charter to include an Automatic transfer.
If any members do not consent, then the change is nullified.

The Founder of a society is responsible for informing the Administrator of all
Automatic transfers when they happen. If the Founder does not notify the
Administrator within 3 ndays of when the transfer should have taken place,
the transfer is nullified.

A.4. Membership
A society may Oust any Member, removing them from the set of Members.

A player that is not a member in a soceity may Request Admittance. If the
soceity Accepts their request within 3 ndays of the Request, the player
becomes a member of that society.

A player may Leave a soceity at any time. When this happens, they cease to be
a Member of the soceity. If a player leaves within 3 ndays of an Automatic
Transfer, said Transfer is nullified.

A.5. Creation
A player may Propose a Soceity at any time before the 7th nday, provided they
are not the Founder of any soceity. They must specify a Name and Charter for
the soceity. This is added to the Ballot as a Soceity Proposal. If the
Soceity Proposal passes, a soceity with the specified name and charter, and
with the proposer as Founder, is created.
}}

Give bd the title, "Player of the month" [[ Title suggestions welcome ]]
