Re: [spoon-discuss] more resources

Well, I think I mentioned this once before, but what do you guys think about chunking the old resources/raw materials/units system, and creating a new one with catagories:

Resource Get it from
Wood Big Sticks, Kindling...
Stone Big Rocks, Mining....
Metal Mining, Athames, Big Lumps...
Oil Mining(rarely), Balls of Wax...
Fiber/Cloth Towels, Worthless Stocks...

Then make the speeder upgrades cost some of these, mostly metal (which makes sense, and follows the current unit amounts). Of course, all it would do now is get WBE running again (and I'll do that anyway if you don't go for this idea), but this opens the door for lots of expansion. I'm thinking we make generic Recycling Centers, put one at each Service Garage owned by WBE, and maybe let people buy more for $$$. And of course, allow people to trade these resources, between themselves and societies.

Any suggestions about what resources to have are welcome. Let's try to keep it from getting too out of hand, though. I don't think most of us want to deal with all the different kinds of metals and such.

Of course, this idea involves bringing back Glotmorf's mining; Since that's his, I'll let him have first go at reactivating it, although I do have several ideas of my own.

Orc In A Spacesuit

-One word. NO. Too complex, too much, no no no. Yes, more realistic, but less complicated. Think Warcraft, where all you had were wood and gold, but you were able to make stone buildings. Suspension of disbelief is out collective friend.-
