If I may interrupt your lively conversation for a moment, I believe the
current ruleset forbids On Leave players from taking any action other than
forfeiture or coming Off Leave. So even if a society tries to force an On
Leave player to do something, they not only don't have to, but in fact they
cannot, until they return. Add to the rules that players On Leave may also
leave societies, and you're set - before the come Off Leave, they can look
at what they'll have to do, and back out before they wake up.
