RE: spoon-discuss: RE: spoon-business: The Daily Recognizer (Wednesday afternoon

"There is no place where a price tag is put on a glass of Champagne." I gather from this that you're saying that one can therefore buy Champagne for 0 points, just as one can buy beer for 5 points. -If there's no price tag, there's no price. I was saying you're right, it looks as though you can just pull Champagne out of thin air. This is semantics.-

However, that is only the case because the rules say "Players who are in Limbo can buy Beer for five points", which both defines the price and permits the purchase. While there is no price defined for Champagne, there is likewise no method of purchase defined, and it is therefore impossible under r18 (if you're sensible), or rule 393 (otherwise). -Therin lies the major problem- you can't purchase it at all. It just exists. I might have 12,000 glasses of Champagne crammed into my Gnome Bag, I haven't worked up the courage to look.-

Which is not to say your verdict may not be correct, but since you have given no evidence that you've even considered my given analysis, I feel obliged to send this to a higher court. -*rubs temples* Ther is no higher court, just a different one... and if I had ignored your analysis, I would have told you you were being stupid, exercised common sense, and declared it false. Granted, I might have been wrong, as the rules take precedence. So see? I looked at your analysis...-
