[s-b] THE MOST NOBLE AND RESPECTABLE RULESET OF THE NOMIC

I yell DREAMPUFF, because ... well, because the rules say so. :)
I remove The Sentence from rule #29 as it had not yet been done, and should
have.

I submit to the Redactor "remove the word "add" from rule #20 (because it
should not have been there when I submitted it)" and submit the following <<
>> delimited goal to rule #20:
<<
Player(s) to achieve 100 points with the following restrictions:
Players may not award themselves, or other players, random points.
The game may not award more than 5 points per action.
Players may not receive more than 5 points per action at any one time.
Players lose 5 points plus any points they may have been awarded by spamming
the game.
Players may not have negative points, negative points reset to 0.
Players may not have more than 100 points, 100 points are deducted from the
"winning" player when kudos is awarded.
>>

If accepted I assume that we will have to either award points for game
actions, and that we will have to create more game actions or at least a
game (within the game) to contain them.

I create the following {{{ }}} delimited rule:
{{{
Awards points based on the following values:
IF Rule 25 = valid & Rule 26 = valid - All players lose 10 points
IF Rule 25 = valid & Rule 26 = invalid - All players gain 5 points
IF Rule 25 = invalid & Rule 26 = valid - All players gain 5 points
IF Rule 25 = invalid & Rule 26 = invalid - All players lose 10 points
Points are awarded once, at the end of the day (00:00 UTC), per valid change
between these options.
}}}

I award all players 5 points.

I create the following {{{ }}} delimited rule:
{{{
Title: Dictatorship? No thanks.
Any player who attempts to put themselves, or another player, outside of
following the rules, or who creates a dictatorship (ie. to create rules, or
play the game, in an unchecked manner) will have those rules removed from
the game instantly. This rule takes precedence over all other rules except
those that define general precedence (#18).
}}}

This still enables different rulesets to be used for groups. Group 1 has one
choice while Group 2 has a differing choice.
This should NOT be a choice of Group 1 can vote and Group 2 cannot
(dictatorship), unless those groups are joined voluntarily.
Just a thought. ;)

I now declare #39 INVALID
I lose support for #12 (just because it keeps confusing me and the rules),
#26, #34, #35
I support #13, #18, #37

#35 and #39 to be deleted with the next refresh.
I also notice that some votes have not been counted but don't have time to
check. Someone voted against #34 and it currently doesn't show in this
update.

THE MOST NOBLE AND RESPECTABLE RULESET OF THE NOMIC :

0. The Unwritten Rule
It's reasonable to interpret that unregulated actions are possible.
[[Value = 5
Ed Murphy +1 / Rainbow Wolfe +1 / Turiski +1 / Arkady +1 / Paaaal +1]]

1. Players have the right to create, discuss and agree on rules and rules
changes.
[[Value = 3
Rainbow Wolfe +1 / MP Darke -1 - technically "I disagree with the addition
of a rule to formalise the addition, removal and changing of rules." /
Turiski +1 / Arkady +1 / Paaaal +1]]

2. New rules are added to The Rules and have to be followed by whomever is
required to follow them.
[[Value = 4
Rainbow Wolfe +1 / Turiski +1 / Arkady +1 / Paaaal +1]]

4. A player is a person who is aware of the existence of the game who has
not been Exiled from the game. Other than the player generally known as
Wooble, all players are required to follow the rules. The rules cannot
impose a punishment for failing to follow the rules which is, in the
judgment of the player being punished, worse than Exile.
[[Value = 4
Wooble +1 / Rainbow Wolfe +1 / Arkady +1 / Paaaal +1]]

5. Mars Needs Creampuffs
Players shall yell DREAMPUFF at least once a month.
[[Value = 4
Ed Murphy +1 / Turiski -1 / Arkady +1 / Paaaal +1]]

6. Bake Me a Loophole
The player generally known as Wooble is required to follow the rules, except
for the one titled "Mars Needs Creampuffs".
[[value = 3
Ed Murphy +1 / Turiski +1 / Rainbow Wolfe +1 / Arkady -1 / Paaaal +1]]

7. Because Typing Takes Forever
The phrase "{{{" is intended to mean "I create a new rule with the following
{{{ }}}-delimited text: {{{"
[[Value = 0 (INVALID)
Turiski +1 / Rainbow Wolfe +1 / Arkady -1 / Paaaal -1]]

8. A player who creates a rule automatically favors it.
[[Value = 4
Turiski +1 / Rainbow Wolfe +1 / Arkady +1 / Paaaal +1]]

9. Gnrlizd Sillinss
The phrase "DREAMPUFF" is an acceptable substitute for "{{{". No rule shall
make any phrase an acceptable substitute for "}}}," unless that rule does
not contain either of the letters 'e' or 'E'.
[[Value = 4
Turiski +1 / Rainbow Wolfe +1 / Arkady +1 / Paaaal +1]]

10. Talk is Cheap
All game actions require a message to the spoon-business@xxxxxxxxx mailing
list.
[[Value = 5
Ed Murphy +1 / Turiski +1 / Rainbow Wolfe +1 / Arkady +1 / Paaaal +1]]

12. The Redactor is a game-defined object. The Redactor can alter the text
of rules. Players cannot alter the text of rules.
Whenever a player submits an order to the Redactor as a Game Action and two
other players express support for that order as Game Actions, the Redactor
carries out that order.
[[Value = 1
Codae +1 / Turiski -1 / Rainbow Wolfe -1 / Arkady +1 / Paaaal +1]]

13. Every message containing the string "}}}" that needs to be submitted to
the Redactor, automatically submits that message to the Redactor.
[[Value = 1
Turiski +1 / Rainbow Wolfe +1 / Arkady +1 / Paaaal -1]]

14. For reference, rules should be numbered sequentially starting with 1 and
adding +1 to each consecutive rule.
[[Value = 2
Rainbow Wolfe +1 / Turiski +1 / Arkady -1 / Paaaal +1]]

17. Any action taken by a player that has a tangible effect on the game is
forbidden unless permitted by the rules.
[[Value = 2
Paul V +1 / Arkady +1]]

18. Put the Past Behind Us
This rule takes priority over all other rules except where rules specify
otherwise.
Game actions take effect in the order in which they are sent to the game,
Rules with the lowest identifying number have priority over those that
follow.
If a rule has a change number then the oldest existing version of that rule
invalidates any other version, except where a rule change has a higher value
in which case that invalidates any other version.
[[Value = 4
Turiski +1 / Arkady +1 / Paaaal +1 / Rainbow Wolfe +1]]

19. Comment Text
Any [[ ]]-delimited text is comment text. Comment text has no direct effect
on the game although it can be read and may aid in the interpretation of the
rule it refers to.
[[Value = 4
Turiski +1 / Rainbow Wolfe +1 / Arkady +1 / Paaaal +1]]
20. Goal
The purpose of the game may be submitted as a game action and needs the
support of 1/2 the known players to become valid. There can only be one goal
at any one time and add the player(s) who achieve this goal each get 1
kudos.
[[Value = 3
Rainbow Wolfe +1 / Arkady +1 / Paaaal +1]]

The current goal of the game is:
Player(s) to achieve 100 points with the following restrictions:
Players may not award themselves, or other players, random points.
The game may not award more than 5 points per action.
Players may not receive more than 5 points per action at any one time.
Players lose 5 points plus any points they may have been awarded by spamming
the game.
Players may not have negative points, negative points reset to 0.
Players may not have more than 100 points, 100 points are deducted from the
"winning" player when kudos is awarded.
[[awaiting on support of 6 known players:
Rainbow Wolfe]]

21. Rule changes should be numbered sequentially, starting with 1 and adding
+1 to each consecutive change, after a period following the identifying rule
number.
[[Value = 3
Rainbow Wolfe +1 / Arkady +1 / Paaaal +1]]

25. This rule may neither be created nor destroyed.
[[Value = 2
0x44 +1 / Rainbow Wolfe +1 / Arkady -1 / Paaaal +1]]

26. This rule may neither be created nor destroyed.
[[Value = -1 (INVALID)
0x44 +1 / Rainbow Wolfe -1 / Arkady -1 / Paaaal -1]]
29. Two People are Two People
No player shall adapt a name which is the name of an object currently
tracked by the game.
[[Value = 1
Turiski +1 / Rainbow Wolfe +1 / 0x44 -1 / ais523 -1 / Paaaal +1]]

30. Do Your Civic Duty
This rule is ineffective if any rule provides for some particular player, or
entity controlled by a player, to publicly announce the current ruleset at
least once per month. Any time a player causes any rule to be added,
removed, or altered in a message, the player must post the updated ruleset
with the appropriate changes, including any changes which the ruleset tracks
which have occurred since the last posting of the ruleset.
[[Value = 3
Turiski +1 / Rainbow Wolfe +1 / Paaaal +1]]

32. The Value Behind The Obvious
A rule has value equal to (number of players favouring the rule - number of
players disfavouring that rule). Any other method of changing a rule's value
is forbidden.
[[Value = 3
Arkady +1 / Rainbow Wolfe +1 / Paaaal +1]]

33.
This string: "LOLLIPOP" is symbolic of this string: "}}}"
[[Value = 2
Arkady +1 / Paaaal +1]]

34. Preventing Conflict
If two or more rules defer to each other, then the rule with the highest
value shall take take priority over the one with the lower value. If any
rules in conflict have the same value, then the rule with the lowest
identifying number takes precedence.
[[Value = 0 (INVALID)
Rainbow Wolfe -1 / Paaaal +1]]

35. No Dramatic Changes Please!
Players may not vote (or rate) rules that have been created prior to the
week of declaring their intention to join the game, except by public
invitation of at least half the known players.
[[Value = -1 (INVALID)
Rainbow Wolfe -1 / Paaaal -1]]
36. 3 is the Key
Players may not submit more than a total of 3 rules, or rule changes, in a
consecutive manner. Other game actions must also follow this rule except
where they are governed by another similar rule.
[[Value = 2
Rainbow Wolfe +1 / Paaaal +1]]

37. A Materialistic Society
A rule with non-positive value has no effect.
[[Value = 2
scshunt +1 / Rainbow Wolfe +1]]

38. Namelessness
This Nomic was never known as B.
[[Value = 1
scshunt +1]]
39. Democracy
Players do not have the right to, and indeed cannot, disagree with
rules and rules changes proposed or caused by the player generally
known as scshunt.
[[Value = INVALID re: #41
scshunt +1]]

40. Awards points based on the following values:
IF Rule 25 is valid & Rule 26 is valid - All players lose 10 points
IF Rule 25 is valid & Rule 26 is invalid - All players gain 5 points
IF Rule 25 is invalid & Rule 26 is valid - All players gain 5 points
IF Rule 25 is invalid & Rule 26 is invalid - All players lose 10 points
Points are awarded once, at the end of the day (00:00 UTC), per valid change
between these options.

41. Dictatorship?

REDACTOR QUEUE:
1. Amend rule 1 to read:
Players have the right to create, discuss, agree, and disagree on all rules
and rule changes, all other rules notwithstanding.

2. Remove the word "add" from rule #20 (because it should not have been
there when I submitted it)
