I make the following proposal:

Change the last sentence of Rule 1639 to read, "If the state of the game displayed in the message does not accurately reflect the result of making that Move - for example, because the board does not reflect another Move made just before that - then the described Move takes precedence."

[[ In other words, regardless of how badly the board gets messed up from typos or misplacings or proportional fonts, the state of the Go game is the sum of the described moves.  There is precedent for this in B Nomic, where the state of the game was considered to be the sum of the actions taken, and the state of the website wasn't necessarily equal to the state of the game. ]]
