I leave the Secret Mookies, citing rule 578 for my ability to do so:

"Membership in a Society is voluntary. An entity who is considered to have
joined a Society is not required to remain a Member. A Society's public
rules may regulate the method for a Member to leave the Society, and said
method is binding upon the departing member, but it cannot prohibit leaving
the Society altogether."

As many people have said, society rules defer to game rules. Although
societies legally can force players to perform actions they normally could
anyway, such as transferring points/BNS to other players, they cannot force
somebody *not* to do something when the rules explicitly state that the
player can.
