[Spoon-business] More Is More: The Bank

(The below is recognized in my email immediately preceding this.)

{{ __More Is More: The Bank__

[[ The main thing this does, aside from cleaning up a bit of language, is
to uncap the economy. I don't really wish to track each of a large, but
finite, number of notes. And I don't like the idea of the bank going
bankrupt. Also, there's a Ministry of the Bank (i.e. The Banker) ]]

Replace the text of Rule 897 with the following:

{{ __The Bank__

A. B Nomic Shillings

There exist an effectively infinite number of B Nomic Shilling notes. A
number of these Notes may be referred to as "s" or "BNS". [[ 123 B Nomic
Shilling Notes may be referred to as 123s or 123BNS. The latter form is
encouraged, to reduce ambiguity. ]]

B Nomic Shillings may only be manipulated as specified in the rules.

B Nomic Shillings are considered to be possessed by a player unless
otherwise specified, but may not be removed from a player's possession
except in ways specified by the rules.

Players may choose to give B Nomic Shillings to another player by making a
Gift Offer (as defined in Rule 814). If there is a cost for making an
Offer, that cost is waived if the Offer consists only of a one-way
transfer of B Nomic Shillings, and both players are in Limbo, or within
two squares of one another on the Grid.

[[ No, you can't mug other players on The Grid, loot 'em when they're
Toaded, or whatever. ]]

B. The Bank

There exists an entity known as The Bank. When the rules dictate that an
entity gains or is given some B Nomic Shillings without specifying the
source, those Shillings come from The Bank. When the rules dictate that an
entity loses, pays, or sacrifices Shillings without specifying where they
go, they go to The Bank.

C. Exchange Rates

An entity may turn 1 score point into 9 shillings, or 11 shillings into 1
score point, by announcing they are doing so on a Public Forum. This
process is known as Exchanging.

If the rules specify, as a condition or partial condition of earning a
Win, a positive integer number of B Nomic Shillings, no more than 10% of
that number may be acquired by Exchanging in any given nweek.

If the rules specify, as a condition or partial condition of earning a
Win, a positive integer number of score points, no more than 10% of that
number may be acquired by Exchanging in any given nweek.

D. The Banker

There exists a Ministry of the Bank. The Minister holding that position
may also be referred to as The Banker.

The Banker has the authority and responsibility to recognize any action
involving B Nomic Shillings, or the adjustment of any player's ownership
of B Nomic Shillings. In the event an Exchange is taking place, The Banker
should ensure the Administrator is aware of the Exchange (so e can update
the score of the player performing the exchange in a timely manner).

The Banker is paid a salary of 75BNS at the start of every nweek.

}}

If a rule entitled "B Nomic Stock Exchange" exists, make the following
additional rules adjustments.

* Append the following paragraph between the third and fourth paragraphs
of section D.
{{
The Banker is also responsible for maintaining lists of stock ownership
and stock prices.
}}

* Revise the final paragraph of Section D, replacing "75BNS" with
"100BNS". Add to the end of that paragraph the following:
{{
After four consecutive nweeks, The Banker is paid a one-time bonus of
one point of Respect.
}}

* Replace Section B of the rule entitled "B Nomic Stock Exchange" with the
following:

{{

At the beginning of each nweek, (1d5)-3 BNS is added to the price of
each corporate stock, with a different roll for each stock. If this
results in any corporate stock's price being 0 BNS or less, that
company goes Bankrupt. All players who have shares in a Bankrupt company
lose them. A new company appears on the Stock Market, with an initial
share price of 10BNS. The Banker may re-use a company's name in this
instance, but is encouraged to provide a new name for the company, similar
in creative spirit to the names of other companies on the market.

}}

[[ Basically, instead of recycling company names, The Banker is encouraged
to come up with zippy new company names. ]]

}}
