spoon-business: Proposal: Agents and Organizations

With the current rules, there is a lot of ambiguity about who is an Agent and who is not.

I make the following proposal, entitled "Agents and Organizations":

--

Amend rule 105 (Agents) to read:

"Any of the following are Agents:

1. Players,
2. Organizations,
3. Parties, if they have one or more representatives who may take actions on behalf of the Party."

Amend rule 106 (Players) by replacing "an Agent" with "a Person".

Create a new rule entitled "Organizations" with the following text:

"Organizations are game entities which may be created only by rules. Each organization has a unique name and one or more representatives who are responsible for taking actions on behalf of the organization. Only Players may become representatives.

The representatives must act on behalf of the organization in resposible way corresponding with the goals of the organization. They must also cause the organization to perform any actions it is required to perform in a timely fashion.

Organizations are never eligible voters."

Amend the first sentence of rule 317 (The Bank) to read:

"The Bank is an organization responsible for the management and distribution of Points."

Amend rule 318 (The Banker) as follows:

Replace the first paragraph with:

"The Office of the Banker is an Elective Office. The Banker is the representative of the Bank." [[ much simpler now :-) ]]

and remove the last paragraph of that rule. [[ Which basically says that the Banker must act responsibly, which is now already required by the organizations-rule. ]]

Amend rule 348 (Player Self-Creation) by replacing "An agent" with "A person".

Amend rule NO-NUMBER-YET (Parties) by replacing "is a type of object" with "is a game entity".
[[ That's because no entity may be both an agent and an object. I think it makes more sense if Parties are agents, not objects. ]]
