Barring a non-river crossing path to the battle, which I don't believe
exists without going through Strasbourg, I see the battle ending in round 2
with Austria breaking.

Losses would be 7I and 1C for Bavaria leaving them able to tolerate 1
pursuit loss without elimination.
France would lose 1I and 1.0 morale, just enough to push the pursuit class
to 4.

With a non-river crossing route to the fight would end in round 3 with the
Bavarians wiped out and France losing 2 factors.

In either case France will gain 2 political points and Austria will lose 1.

I will send a pursuit roll in which will of course be unnecessary should
there be a way for John to have reached the battle without a river crossing.
