    Well, Mike's rolls left the door open, but my typical luck snatched
defeat from the jaws of victory.  The combat goes 3 rounds and both sides
break at the end.  (France +1 PP.)  Losses are as follows:

ROUND 1
-2 for Algeria
-1 for Spain

ROUND 2
-1 for Algeria
-1 for Spain

ROUND 3
-2 for Algeria
-1 for Spain

Total losses are (presumably) 5 inf. for Algeria and 3 inf. for Spain.  This
has the effect of boosting the defenders morale to the maximum (2.0) while
still leaving the city fully manned.  Figures...
