OK, I'm convinced by the FAQ as well.

That being said, I think we would all agree that it was legal for the French
leaders to be _placed_ with the Swedish corps, it's just that they cannot be
_used_ in a battle exclusively between Swedish and Prussian forces (in other
words, they would be spectators only in such a battle).  Am I correct about
this ?

I think it would be fair to allow Jim to unplace the leaders in light of
this rules interpretation.  But since the leaders can be used if British
forces are involved in a battle with Swedish forces (even if it's a combined
Anglo-Prussian army), I would not say that placing Davout/Bernadotte would
be useless.  Jim should consider this before deciding whether or not to
unplace the leaders.
