Not great rolls; a modified 4 for wind guage and a modified 3 for combat. OK, so to have any chance of winning, the French must have more than 25 ships. If they do, and the French win the wind guage (on a 5 or 6), they will win if they roll a 6 on the combat roll. If the French have 30 ships, they will win if they tie the wind guage and roll a 6 on the combat roll. If the French win, GB loses -3 PPs and chooses to retreat 1 sea space to the English Channel. France would gain +2 PPs. If the British win, they gain +2 PPs and France loses -1 PP.
